Colors of Mexico

This is a country of heart

And it has been since the start

With bright colors everywhere you look

Like crayons in a coloring book

 

 

 

Reds and greens, yellows and blues

Every shade of all the hues

 

 

 

Crimson sunsets and pink dawns

That summer so suavely spawns

 

 

 

 

Colors of the homes, the shops, the street

Of the shoes on the little kids’ feet

 

 

 

On the blankets, and puppets in the store

 

Sombreros, and dresses, colors galore!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pots and plates and vases

Fill the open spaces

 

Glistening in the summer sun

Shouting, “Follow me to the fun!”

 

 

Colors of Mexico laugh out loud

 

Adding brightness to the friendly crowd

 

 

 

 

 

 

At the carnivals and the fairs; colors dance in the air
