The Sonoran Sun—Sonoran Resorts Just Keep Getting Better and Better!

By in Our Blog with 0 Comments

DSC_6720During design and construction of their four beach front resort condominiums on Sandy Beach, Sonoran Resorts Partners utilized their philosophy of learning from each project to implement improvements into the next one without a significant increase in construction costs. For the Sonoran Sun, the group went a step further. They successfully recruited the young prodigy, Ingeniero Fernando X. Anaya from industry giant, Situr, where he was serving as CEO of the mega tourist community development, Marina Ixtapa. DSC_0001-3

Mr. Anaya implemented his aggressive and creative style of organization, management and financial acumen to reach landmark records in the design, launch, completion and sales of the next two projects: The Sun and The Sky. He completed the Sonoran Sun within budget in almost half the time it took to complete the former projects. The first 10 story tower of the Sun was sold out in a record three hours; the second tower sold in just four hours.

IMG_4706 Among the amenities and improvements introduced at The Sun include a concave design that allows the center units to be even closer to the beach; in fact, The Sun is the closest resort to the beach in all of Rocky Point. There are three pools including one heated with a swim up bar and two Jacuzzis overlooking 200 meters of beachfront containing over two dozen palapas with their own beach chairs exclusively for guests.

Guests can lounge in the chairs around the pools and on the pool island to enjoy feature length movies on a giant screen in the evenings with the Sea of Cortez as a

backdrop for a lifetime of memories. IMG_4709

IMG_4697 One of the most unique and scenic experiences of The Sonoran Sun is the huge circular entrance of hand-laid pavers depicting an Aztec flaming sun design that leads guests and residents to the spacious authentic Mexican plaza housing the luxurious lobby on one side and Emiliano’s Restaurant on the other.  Open to the public, this signature eatery is managed by Miguel de Alberti Fuentes who grew up in the restaurant business and has been with the location since The Sun opened in 2005. He is bilingual, married for twenty years and is putting his two daughters through Xochicalco University in Ensenada.

During the slower winter months, Emiliano’s is open on the weekends, and extended days when occupancy at The Sun is higher. You can always call to get the current hours of operation at:  (from a local land line) 383-0200 Ext. 5005.

Miguel is certainly making it worth your while to come in. If you mention that you read about him in this article he’ll take a full 15% off your food bill!
