Art in the Park Event was a Success—Perfect Weather, Big Increase in Visitors

By in Our Blog with 0 Comments

Last Saturday’s annual arts and crafts show at Fiesta Park in Las Conchas was attended by many more visitors than expected this year, according to Lori Ramirez of the Las Conchas Homeowners Association Community Relations Committee who organized this charity event.  There were more arts and crafts exhibits as well.

Live music all day long by Jesse Gerardo & La Katerva, Qui Nguyen, and Richard Scott seemed to keep the estimated 500 or so attendees in the mood to shop the well laid out arts and crafts displays at each of the 20 exhibits.  Food included tacos, tamales, Pozole, cookies and coffee by Café Garbacho. There was also beer and wine for those so inclined.

Though they won’t have a final tally of the money raised for charity from this event for a few days, Lori estimates that somewhere around $1,800 dollars was raised, plus the food donations that won’t be counted until a little later this week. That sounds like a fun and successful event worthy of all the hard work by the Committee!

Most would agree that the event was a fun day for all and many in need will benefit from the results. You can look forward to the Committee’s next charity events that include their annual Garage Sale on February 18, and their Bocce Ball Tournament on April 7.
